Yoga has been in the background of my life for as long as I can remember from a memory of watching my mum do it when I was little, through helping me through two happy and healthy pregnancies and more recently getting me back to full mobility after having a hip replacement in 2019.
I qualified 200 hours with OrangeYoga in 2017, and I am currently almost finished the 300 hour qualification with OrangeYoga and loving the learning and the exploration involved.
I chose to start my pregnancy and postnatal training when my daughter in law was pregnant with my first grandchild and haven’t looked back. I did my first training with Poppy Perinatal in 2018. I have since expanded this training with Sally Parkes in 2022 taking both the pre and post-natal course and as I loved it so much I also took the advanced post-natal course. I feel this wide range of learning has provided me with a with a tool-box that can make yoga accessible and practical for both pre and post-natal mums
I am now 60 and I really appreciate the intuitive way the yoga asanas make my body and joints feel like I have been oiled, the philosophy gives me a framework for a positive way of living and the pranayama practises give my mind space to stay sane in our busy world.
I feel that yoga should be about everyone being able to feel confident to work with their body and mind to make space and peace within themselves.
I would like anyone coming to a class with me to leave with warm muscles feeling like they have worked, a relaxed and peaceful mind and a big smile.
