FAQs
I'm a beginner. Where do I start?
All of our classes (except for Intermediates) are suitable for beginners. Just mention to your teacher before class that you’re new and support and modifications will be given to you.
Can I leave my mat at the studio?
Yes! Find yourself a tube in our wall of mats. Remember your number and place it back in the same tube. (Our wall of mats are for privately owned mats only, if you need to borrow one, please ask one of the team).
Where can I park my car / bike?
If you're coming by car, Waitrose is only a five minute walk and Jessop Avenue pay and display is right on the doorstep. No parking is permitted within the Bakery. If you're coming by bike, we have a bike rack to the right of our orange front door.
How much do classes cost and do I need to book?
A 30 day pass is £30 - join unlimited studio and zoom classes with your pass. No contract just a simple subscription you can start or stop at the click of a button (manage this via “my account”). This is our regular price and not a special offer. We also do drop in classes at £12 if you want just the one. Further pricing info can be found here.
You’ll need to pre-book and pay for a place online before you come along, you can book directly from the timetable! Look out for an email receipt from studio@orangeyoga.co.uk with all the details you’ll need for your class.
How do I manage a subscription?
When you buy a 30 day pass, you'll see the message "would you like to choose not to automatically renew your 30 days" you can tick it off there if not required.
An email will be sent to you 10 days before the renewal date to check that it’s still wanted, you can click through straight from the email if you’d like to cancel (our emails sometimes go to junk so worth a check there).
You can also manage stopping a subscription at orangeyoga.co.uk, “my account” from the menu, scroll down and click “passes”.
How do I find my way around?
Come through our orange front door, a teacher or front of house will be on hand to help you find your class. There is also an iPad on the wall at the top of the stairs that will show you which room your class is in.
Also through this door, at the top and the bottom of the stairs, you'll find the loos.
In the hub at the top of the stairs on the left, you'll find herbal teas to help yourself to (just pop your mug in the dishwasher after), a place to sit and chat and a rack to store your mat (remember your number and place it back in the same tube) and a place to hang your coat.
Studio 1 is behind the orange front door at the top of the stairs.
Studios 2 and 3 are off the courtyard.
How do I choose a class?
Classes on the timetable listed as ‘Yoga’ or ‘Gentle yoga’, are a great way to get moving in a more gentle way, they include breathing work, strength and mobility work.
If you’re looking for something a bit stronger than that would be a ‘Vinyasa’ or ‘Forrest Inspired’ class which are more flowing, have more intensity. There are more standing poses, stronger poses, maybe longer holds and they’re a little bit more cardiovascular.
The other option would be to go a step further with an ‘Ashtanga’ class, which is very cardiovascular. You’re definitely going to get sweaty!
Want or need something really restorative? Choose ‘Yin’ or ‘Restorative’ with long, slow stretches, giving your mind and body a complete release.
‘Iyengar’ is a great contributor or support to your usual practice. Great for working on precision and alignment and accessible for everyone at every stage of life. A great way to deepen and enhance your yoga practice.
Are there lockers?
There are drawers in each of the studios for you to put your belongings in (remember to silence your phone). We recommend that valuables are not left in the general areas. No need to bring any change with you - they’re free. There are racks in each studio for your shoes. If you’d like to hang your coat, there are pegs in the Hub.
What are your opening hours?
The studio is run by volunteers. We aim to be open 30 minutes before each class and for around the same after. In between times, if you would like to contact us, our email is studio@orangeyoga.co.uk.
What is the cancellation policy?
All regular scheduled weekly classes can be cancelled up until 1hr before class start time. Classes can be cancelled via “my account”.
As quite a few of our classes are now fully booked, we kindly ask that you cancel your spot if you are no longer able to attend, so that someone else can practise.
Special events, workshops/trainings - these can only be refunded if we can find someone to take your place. Obviously, we will take account of exceptional circumstances. If you have chosen to pay in instalments, payments to completion will still be due.
How do I book?
Head to the timetable. Choose your class and press ‘book’ on the studio or zoom option beside it (use the calendar at the bottom of the page to navigate dates). You’ll be asked to set up a 'registered for online booking account' if you haven’t got one already. Choose your pass. Look out for your email receipt from studio@orangeyoga.co.uk with details for your class (these sometimes go to junk folders, so worth checking there).
Where’s my Zoom link?
When you book a zoom class, you’ll get an email receipt from studio@orangeyoga.co.uk which has your joining link. Alternatively, on the day of the class, head to orangeyoga.co.uk “my account” and you’ll see a zoom link there that you can click and join straight into the class.
What should I bring with me?
Bring your yoga mat and maybe a blanket, your water bottle. (We do have mats and blankets you can borrow if you forget or don’t have one just yet).
Come dressed for yoga, wear something comfy that you can move freely in, you don’t need any special clothing. Due to the nature of the Bakery building, we recommend you wear warm, cosy layers that you can adjust up or down.
Please remove shoes before entering any of the 3 studios.
How do I find you?
We are on the Waitrose side of town, just behind Royal Crescent. Use GL50 3PN for maps and satnav.
OrangeYoga, Crescent Bakery, 70 St George’s Place, Cheltenham, GL50 3PN.
