Code of Conduct

Last updated: 25-Apr-26

OrangeYoga is a community as much as a yoga studio. This page sets out what you can expect from us - from our teachers, our trainings, and the studio as a whole. It exists because we think it's worth being clear about how we try to do things.

1. What we commit to

We will welcome you as you are. Whatever your age, body, ability, background, race, faith, gender, sexuality, or experience with yoga - you belong in our classes. There is no level of fitness, flexibility, or knowledge you need to reach before you start. Start from where you are.

We will teach safely and within what we know. Our teachers are trained, insured, and continue learning throughout their careers. We will be honest about the limits of what we can offer. If something you are dealing with sits outside what yoga can help with, we will say so, and where we can, point you toward someone better placed to help.

We will treat you with respect. Bullying, harassment, and conduct of a sexual nature have no place in our studio - between teachers and students, or anywhere else. We take any concern raised seriously and in confidence.

We will respect your privacy. What you share with us - in conversation, on intake forms, in class - stays with us. We will not discuss you with other students, and we will look after your data carefully.

We will look after the space. The studios are kept clean, safe, and properly equipped. Our teachers know what to do if there is an injury or an emergency. If something is not right, we want to hear about it.

We will be honest with you. We will not use pressure tactics, fake scarcity, or hype to sell you anything. We will tell you what our classes, courses, and trainings actually involve, what they cost, and what they will and will not do for you. Yoga doesn't fix everything - but practised well, it genuinely helps.

We will keep our community safe and inclusive. The studio is a shelter from the storm. We do not bring politics, food debates, or us-and-them thinking into the space. Whoever you are, whatever you believe, you are welcome here.

We will hold ourselves accountable. Our teachers agree to a teacher code of conduct that mirrors these commitments. If we ever fall short, please tell us. We would rather know.

2. If something goes wrong

If you have a concern about a class, a teacher, or anything that has happened at OrangeYoga, please contact Isabelle, Ian, or Lisa - in person, by email, or however feels easiest. We will listen, take it seriously, and tell you what we are doing about it.
